New inorganic cement for biomedical applications

What we offer:
A novel magnesium phosphate cement with good properties for clinical applications
has been patented and developed. It is envisaged as an excellent root canal filler for endodontic treatments, improving the commercial materials currently used for this application, such as MTA.

Stable material, good sealer, adhesive and
with potential antibacterial activity.

What are we looking for:
Partners to establish commercial agreements along with technical cooperation are sought.
 Technology of interest for companies devoted to biomaterials manufacturing for hard
tissue regeneration in biomedical applications such as odontology and bone surgery.
 Relevant in endodontic applications, as a root canal filler or root canal sealer.

New nanostructured material for tissue regeneration

What we offer:
A new ion release system for revascularization and tissue regeneration based of calcium phosphate glass nanoparticles has been patented and developed.
A biodegradable dermal dressing based on
polylactic acid useful for vascular ulcers.
A dressing that regenerates the affected tissue by its revascularization and by promoting the migration of fibroblastic cells due to the ion release system.
Ability to regenerate the dermis without using biological agents such as cells, protein, peptides or growth factors.
A decreased healing and tissue regeneration time in ulcer treatment, together with revascularization of the wounded area reduces the percentage of relapses.
All these advantages allow a significant reduction in costs production.

Protein-like Multifunctional Polymers and its Use as Stable Coatings for Bone Implants

What we offer:
A new set of protein-like recombinant biopolymers with biomineralization and
enhancement of cell response functions have been successfully synthesized. A simple method to strongly-anchor the biopolymers on metallic biosurfaces has
been also developed. Coated dental and orthopedic implants will have improved,
more stable, and faster integration in bone tissue.
The coatings preserve substrate topography
and do not detach after mechanical or biochemical stress.

What are we looking for:

This technology alloys to obtain a new multifunctional coating to promote bone regeneration around Metallica implants and thus, accelerate dental and orthopedic implants integration after surgery. It could also be used for incorporating antimicrobial agents and other specific drugs.

PC-ProTec A novel, highly effective zinc free anticorrosive additive easily dispersible in priming paints

What we offer:
PC-ProTec is a new technology uniquely positioned as a safer alternative to replace toxic anticorrosive additives, mainly zinc and its compounds, typically used in paint formulations to protect metal structures. The novel zinc-free anticorrosive pigment, which is applied in very low concentrations (0.3-1.5 wt %), is based on poly(alkyl thiophene acetate)s. This technology meets the new environmental regulations that restrict the use of zinc.

What are we looking for:

New business opportunity for polymer manufacturers to fabricate and commercialize an innovative additive for important industrial sectors, like paints and varnishes manufacturers. It can be an excellent additive for marine medium and industrial environment, because it substantially improves the adherence, blistering and resistance to corrosion of the steel in these circumstances.

Novel biobased aromatic and aliphatic polyesters from carbohydrates

What we offer:
The development of biobased materials, especially those derived from carbohydrates, has the potential to reduce the amount of petroleum consumed in the industry as well as opens new high-value-added markets to agriculture. Nowadays great attention is given to isosorbide-derived polyesters, due to the non-toxicity and the rigidity provided by the use of carbohydrate-derived isosorbide. However, relevant alternatives to isosorbide have not been presented up to now. The present invention relates to the obtention of aromatic and aliphatic biobased homopolyesters and copolyesters derived from bicyclic diacetalized carbohydrate-derived alditols and aldaric acids.

What are we looking for:
Partners to further develop the system and/or to establish commercial agreements along with technical cooperation are sought.

New business opportunity for polymer manufacturers to fabricate and commercialize novel biobased polyesters, which can replace the aromatic and aliphatic polyesters currently used in packaging and as fibers and fabrics. Thus, applications of these new polyesters are films by extrusion and casting for support and packaging, films for thermoforming, injection molding, and hydrolysable and biodegradable fibers.

New paper manufacturing process

What we offer:
The new process for the manufacture of paper with internal sizing want to get better internal sizing with the addition of enzyme-mediator system consisting of an oxidative enzyme laccase type. Oxidoreductase laccase enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of phenolic compounds is used, among others, for the delignification and bleaching of cellulosic fibers timber. With this new process first used this system to obtain the internal sizing paper applied cellulosic fibers (with or without lignin).

What we offer:
An electrochemical cell with simultaneous ultraviolet radiation useful for the treatment and reuse of textile effluents that gets over 60% saving of water and electrolyte painting, has been patented.
